There is no specific way to become a punk star at all, and the whole idea is more of a process, and a style of grooming has to be adopted. There are different ways in which this can probably be achieved, but the central idea is to play or listen to some great punk band music. Green day, Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Who, Good Charlotte, Sum 41 and Blink 182 are all good examples.

To ideally become a true punk band rocker, you will need a good punk band, and all of the members should have punk rock in their blood, which is pretty obvious! Next, you will need to listen to the best punk music available and try to make some good covers. Remember, you won’t get anywhere without an inspiration, so get some posters of your favourite punk band gods and don’t forget to stick them where you will see them often, and be reminded of your goal of becoming a punk rocker! Once you perfect some good covers of other UK punk bands, you should start performing for the public, such as family, and neighbours or local school kids. Then you can go further and perform at parties, and do it for free- that’s the classic punk band style! That way, you will be sure you’re doing it only for the love of music and not for the fame, glory or the money that goes along with it.

When you start performing you will need a completely new wardrobe and a host of punk accessories to go with your punk band look. If you take a glance at the UK punk band scene, you will notice the individual way in which they dress along with the fashion statements and hot new trends each punk band sets with each hit.

The most important thing you need to keep in mind though is not to let critics who are anti-punk to put you down when you are just starting out. Just think about where you want to be as a UK punk star a few years from now, and soon even they will be queuing to buy your latest album.
