When you are a member of a prominent punk band that performs on stage or for the public or at parties, you can bet that you are going to have a huge number of eyes on you, and whether they penetrate the jazzed lights and smokescreen or not, they will notice what you’re wearing for sure! Being a punk band member, it is important to dress the right way. Punk is also a lot about lifestyle and attitude, which both show in the way you dress. Over the generations, UK punk bands have laid down various styles of punk attire and trends that may or may not suit your taste. Just because you may admire a punk band, doesn’t mean that you have to copy the way he or she dresses. It is all about your own unique style that reflects you music and attitude and also to the type of audience you want to attract. Either way, if you’re absolutely clueless as to what to wear to your concert, and are not a fashionable person, per say, then get out and just get a simple t-shirt that makes you stand out (even if you’re sitting down!) or better still, get a blank tee and write your life motto, punk band name or anything you like on it, that is true punk and who knows you could start a trend of your own. Get your UK punk band members to go to a thrift shop and try out the old vintage style jackets and other items. If you wear them with cool jeans or mix and match, you can pull off a really awesome punk band image. Plus they are really cheap too. Also get some good studs, they are your lifeline! Get some cool streaks done on your hair, and make it stand up - that means a buckets load of hair gel and a trip to the salon! You will also need some good quality boots for your punk band - you should be able to pick these up at any army surplus store in the UK. Don’t wear too much make up; some eyeliner should do just fine. For punk rocker ladies dark or bright way-out-there nail polish could do just the trick! |
